AE Threads (“AE”, “we”, “us”) is a small apparel brand making limited-run clothing for automotive enthusiasts. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, what we do with it, and the choices you have. You can reach us any time at info@aethreads.tokyo.

Information you give us. When you use the notification form, we record the email address you enter, the collection you signed up for (currently Collection 001), and the date and time you signed up.

Information created automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps basic server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — used only to keep the site running and to protect it from abuse.

What we do not collect. The store does not take payments or ship orders yet, so we hold no payment card details, shipping addresses or phone numbers. We do not place advertising trackers on the notification form, build advertising profiles, or share your address with data brokers.

We use your email address to:

• tell you when Collection 001 opens, and tell you when a run is nearly sold out;
• send occasional, relevant updates about future limited runs (no third-party advertising);
• keep the list accurate and remove bad or duplicate addresses;
• respond to requests you send us, and to comply with legal obligations.

Where a legal basis is required (for example under the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR), we process your email address on the basis of the consent you give us when you sign up. Consent is withdrawable at any time — see section 7.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We disclose it only:

• to service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — our application hosting and database provider, and the email delivery service we use to send notifications;
• where we are required to do so by law, subpoena or a valid legal process, or to protect our rights, safety or property;
• to a buyer or successor if the business is acquired, merged or reorganised, subject to this policy.

We keep your address on the notification list until you ask us to remove it, or until we stop operating the list. Every message we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, and receive your data in a portable format. If you are in California, you also have the right to know what we collect and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email us from the address on the list and tell us what you would like. We will verify it is your address, act within 30 days, and confirm when it is done. If you are in the EU, UK or Switzerland, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

We are based in Dallas, Texas, and our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you use the site from outside the US, including Japan, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

The notification list is stored in a database with access controls: addresses cannot be read by anonymous visitors to the site, and only an authenticated owner session can view them. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we keep the data we hold to the minimum needed.

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us an address, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page, and describe any material change here before it takes effect.
